First time posting here. Been doing projects with the kids and learning how to use Inkscape to create art and projects over the last few months. Today I finally was able to create something halfway decent worthy of sharing with the Glowforge community. Tomorrow my daughter turns 10 and for her birthday she is getting a sailing class that we will be taking together over the coming weekends.
Rather than giving our kids more stuff we figured it would be more fun to give them an experience and hopefully a lifelong hobby. I wanted to give her a small sailboat on her birthday along with a gift card for the class. I found some low res blueprints online of the Catalina Capris we will be sailing and overlaid my on vector layers in Inkscape. Pretty happy with the outcome from an evenings worth of work.

A s a nation, the British are still feeling their way with cremation — it only become popular after the second world war. People were unsure about what to do with the ashes and mostly left them behind at the crematorium to be buried or scattered in the grounds. But things are changing. Now people are more likely to take the ashes home after the funeral, to bury them or scatter them out of doors.
Scattering is particularly popular, returning them to the earth, often according to the deceased last wishes, on mountains, in the woods, in the garden, at cricket grounds, football pitches and even dispersing them to the winds on a fairground ride in full swing, which has been a problem at Disneyland. There are also leftfield ways to dispose of the remains: sending them up in a rocket, turning them into diamond jewellery — the carbon content makes this possible — or launching them on to the water in a miniature Viking ship.
There is another trend that is less talked about, less sensational: keeping the ashes at home. Sometimes it’s due to indecision — uncertainty about doing the right thing. There may also be unresolved feelings of grief and loss, so the survivors cannot bear to let go. Sometimes they may be waiting for another death, usually their own.
All over Britain there are small domestic shrines — urns, boxes and caskets in sitting-room cabinets, or on mantelpieces, often surrounded by mementoes — photographs, ornaments, spectacles. Or else the ashes are placed out of sight. A favourite place seems to be the bedroom wardrobe: intimate, enclosed and private.

Chicken sales have been soaring since spring when consumers became concerned about food production during the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Chickens not only provide food, but they also offer entertainment as pets, fertilize lawns and control insects. Cities have different guidelines about keeping backyard hens and charge a minimal fee per bird. Michelle Andrews of Inkom bought chickens two years ago as a hobby. Andrews, a biologist, had the time to tend to her fluffy flock after retiring from running a research lab at Idaho State University.

According to legend, Webb Ellis picked up the ball and ran with it during a school football match in , thus creating the “rugby” style of play. Rules For Dating My Daughter
There are a great deal of restrictions surrounding who is entitled to put a grave marker or other memorial on a grave site in the UK. These restrictions take into consideration who is in possession of the Deed of Grant for the grave as well as to the rules set down by the cemetery in which the plot lies. Only the person named on the Deed of Grant to a cemetery plot is entitled to put a headstone on a grave, provided that the cemetery allows it. If you do not own the Deed of Grant and place a grave marker on the site, the Registered Grave Owner is legally entitled to remove it or have it removed.
It is worth bearing in mind that even if you are the person named on the Deed of Grant and therefore entitled to put a headstone or other grave marker on a grave site, you are still bound by the rules and restrictions of the cemetery in which the grave lies.

Robert Stein at his th birthday parade with his daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi and Don Brock, and his granddaughter, Tricia Guba. Van Etten has one very special resident who, as of Aug. Robert Stein has been looking forward to this birthday for several years, and as it grew closer he spoke of it frequently.
One-hundred years is a long time by any standard, and Stein, known to his friends as Bob, has been in quite good health for most of them. As the actual date approached, he did take a tumble and scared all those who love him, but he did not break any bones, for which everyone gave thanks. He did bruise some ribs and his elbow, but otherwise was fine for his big day. So who is Robert Stein? He was a farm boy in Pennsylvania who left school early to run the farm after his father became ill.
While his father was healthy, he and his dad milked 40 cows by themselves before the farm had electricity. As the oldest of 11 children, he learned responsibility early. He left home at 21 and tried several jobs. Coal mining underground was not for him after working outside his entire life.
